HMDA is designated as Appellate Authority to provide information in respect of Member Estate and R&DO section,Legal Cell & LA Unit of Jawaharnagar under section 5 (2) to receive applications for information or appeals under the Act to forward the same forthwith either to PIO or to Appellate Authority as the case may be. He has to consolidate monthly reports received and send the same to Government through Public Information Officer (PIO).

HMDA is designated as Public Information Officer under section 5(1) to provide information in respect of all activities pertaining to HMDA and to receive the applications for information or appeals sent by PIO as contemplated in the Act and dispose within the time frame stipulated in the Act. and also as APIO in respect of Land Acquisition matter under section 5(2) to receive applications for information or appeals under the Act to forward the same forthwith either to PIO or to Appellate Authority as the case may be. He has to consolidate monthly reports received and send the same to Government through Public Information Officer (PIO).
